Child bullying and substance abuse

The link between child bullying and substance abuse

There is evidence to suggest that there is a link between child bullying and substance abuse.

Children who are bullied may be more likely to turn to drugs or alcohol as a means of coping with the negative emotions and stress that come with being bullied.

Similarly, children who engage in bullying behavior may be more likely to develop substance abuse problems later in life.

This may be because bullying can be a form of aggression, and aggressive behaviors are often associated with an increased risk of substance abuse.

Additionally, children who bully others may be more likely to engage in other risky behaviors, such as experimenting with drugs, which can increase their risk of developing substance abuse problems.
